| What Kilkerran Heavily Peatedis a bold, high-octane spirit known for its dirty and industrial character, balanced by a surprising amount of creamy sweetness. Unlike the medicinal, seaweed smoke of Islay scotches, the peat here is often described asearthy, ashen, and industrial. Youll likely pick up notes of campfire embers and soot. The heavy smoke is frequently challenged by a rich, creamy dessert-like sweetness. You may notice vanilla custard, butterscotch and lemon curd. You’ll find a mix of bright citrus (lemon and key lime) and softer orchard or tropical fruits likegreen apples, pears, and grilled pineapple. It is typically bottled atcask strength(often 57%60% ABV), giving it an oily, coating, and viscous mouthfeel that carries a significant alcohol punch. |
|
| Why Everything is done on-site in Campbeltown. The barley isfloor-malted by hand, its distilled in traditional pots, and its bottled right there at the distillery. In a world of massive corporate-owned factories, Kilkerran is one of the few whiskies that feels like it was actually made by a small team of humans. |
