Where cuisine reigns supreme, Master Distiller turns Master Chef to balance flavours of the Orient on a knifes edge with this flavoursome foodies gin. A New World gin that takes inspiration from family heritage, highlighting Australia’s love affair with exotic Eastern flavours and captures the essence of uniquely Australian native botanicals.
Be awash with a citrus tsunami of mouth-watering mandarin, Sichuan pepper, goji, black sesame seeds andjujubes. The roar of rich spices and flavours of the East, blend seamlessly with uniquely Australian accents of native strawberry gum, Wattleseed and kaffir lime to create a gin bursting with lifted aromatics and textural complexity.
Approachable and versatile, yetunlike any other gin.The rich flavours, layers and texture make it a fantastic gin for pairing with a broad array of cocktails as well as food. From the bright freshness of mandarin, the soft, round texture from the jujubesandsesame seed, through to the subtle tongue tingling spice of Sichuan pepper and nuttiness from the Wattleseed.
Our Head Distiller Holly’s Chinese heritage inspired her to draw on Eastern flavours from the Chinese red date known as jujubes – grown by a farmer in Victoria, Sichuan pepper and a whole host of Eastern flavours such as goji berries and kaffir lime.
This gin is like the younger sister of our Gin 10 – it’s spicy and racy, but a little sweeter than Gin 10 due to the mandarin. One of our selection of gins made to perfectly complement food, includingMaritime GinandHeartbreak Pinot Noir Gin, the Orient Gin is fantastic with all sorts of spicy Asian foods, including Thai and Vietnamese.
This gin was handcrafted from scratch using ourgrape-to-glassdistillation method – the art of distilling wine into spirit. This technique, unique to Bass & Flinders Distillery, delivers a smoother, fuller, richer flavour for your drinking pleasure.
