Description
This maritime single malt whisky is a Limited Release in support of the Great Southern Reef Foundation.
Matured in ex-Apera Sherry casks and finished in 40 year old ex-Tawny Port casks from Murray Street, bringing a lovely salted caramel backbone, enhanced by the Apera stewed fruits, with a complexity and depth that only an aged fortified can provide. Limted release of 591 bottles.
Nose – Apple, apricot, pear, brown wood sugars and kitchen spices. An apricot danish meets an almond croissant. Complex and evolving.
Palate – A salted caramel backbone and a balance of sweet buttery stone fruits from the Apera cask with that old Tawny treacle.
Finish – A lingering finish of lovely sweet, apple, pear, sultana and treacle overlay.
