Aultmore 13 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish Darkness Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 500ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Coastal notes of harbourside and shellfish are joined by salted peanuts, candied nut brittle, and oily, briny minerality.

Palate: Oily malt leads the way with notes of earthy black tea followed by vegetal, green peppercorn warmth and a touch of cut grass.

Finish: Earthy, oily oak, barky spice, hessian, Garibaldi biscuits.

Distillery Information

Aultmore distillery was founded in 1895 by Alexander Edward, then owner of the Benrinnes distillery. The distillery was originally powered by a waterwheel, and was soon adapted to use a steam engine instead, which ran day and night for 70 years, apart from maintenance.
