Description
White Wine: 2016 | Domaine Latour-Giraud | Les Genevrieres
Very suave on entry, then drier and more closed in the middle palate than the Charmes, but with excellent citrus lift to relieve its salinity. Laid-back, concentrated wine with a fine-grained texture and excellent verve. Really resounds on the salty finish.

Reviews:
- Burghound: Naturally exotic aromas are composed of Asian-style tea and the essence of pear and acacia blossom. The middle weight flavors possess both a finer mouth feel as well as more minerality though not the same power as this is almost delicate on the cool, pure and admirably well-balanced finale. Lovely stuff.
- Decanter: Rich and creamy with great weight of apricot fruit and citrus elements, but not at the expense of acidity. Theres spicy oak, considerable minerality and great drive. The wine is very well put together and has a wonderful long, tasty finish. Great potential.
Producer Information
Domaine Latour-Giraud is a wine producer based in the town of Meursault in the Cte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy’s Cte d’Or heartland. The estate produces a range of labels from local and neighboring vineyard sites, predominantly based on the local mainstay: Chardonnay, although a number of red, Pinot Noir wines are also made. The domaine vineyards cover around 10 hectares (25 acres), with roughly 85 percent given over to white wines in the Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Bourgogne Blanc appellations. The remainder is Pinot Noir, grown in Meursault and neighboring Volnay and Pommard. Among Meursault Premier Cru sites, Latour-Giraud has a 2.5-hectare (6.1-acre) holding in the well-regarded Genevrires vineyard as well as plots in Perrires, Charmes, Poruzots and Bouchres. The domaine also produces a Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru: Champs-Canet. Almost all the Pinot Noir cultivated by the estate is in premier cru vineyards, covering the Refne (Pommard), Clos des Chnes (Volnay) and Caillerets (Meursault) sites. A Pommard Cuve Carmen is produced from fruit grown in two plots at the very western end of the appellation. The domaine was founded in 1958 when the local Giraud and Latour-Boillot families (distillers and vignerons respectively) were united by marriage. The domaine is currently overseen by brother and sister Jean-Pierre and Florence Latour.
