Distillery Information

(glen-ORD) The Glen Ord distillery is located just north of Inverness. It used to be an alehouse and meal mill but then Robert Johnstone and Donald McLennan gave it the licence in 1838. In 1896 the distillery was completely refurbished and modified and it ranked as one of the top distilleries in Scotland. The majority of Glen Ord whisky was used for blending up until about 1990, however they then launched a 12 year old single malt, a winner of various international awards. Glen Ord is now one of three distilleries which are sold under The Singleton brand, along with Dufftown and Glendullan. Malt Whisky from this distillery has also been sold under the Glenordie, Ordie and Ord brands and found in releases by notable independent bottlers.
