Nose: Cinnamon dusted baked apple, with runny salted toffee and a whiff of sea breeze.

Palate: Obvious sherry influence, with damson jam, more of that salted toffee, vanilla fudge and spicy oak.

Finish: Barley sugar, caramelised brown sugar and a dash of citrus.

“Bunnahabhain, meaning “mouth of the river,” started in 1881 on remote Islay by William Robertson & the Greenlees Bros, building its own town for workers; it became part of Edrington (Famous Grouse), then sold to Burn Stewart (Distell) in 2003, flourishing with investment, growing from two to four stills, and now known for its traditional, often unpeated whiskies, community focus, and commitment to environmental goals, under Distell’s ownership.”
