Description

What it tastes like
Elegant, lifted and finely structured. Cassis, black cherry and dried herbs are supported by leafy freshness and subtle spice. The tannins are polished and filigree-like, giving the wine shape without weight.
Why you should buy it
The more aromatic and refined of the two Boekenhoutskloof Cabernets. A brilliant expression of Franschhoek Cabernet, showing balance, clarity and ageing potential rather than brute force.
What to enjoy it with
Roast beef, lamb, duck or mushroom dishes. Also a great match for hard cheeses.
Wine story
Sourced largely from Boekenhoutskloofs Franschhoek farm, with a small but important inclusion of Cabernet Franc adding lift and floral complexity. Matured in new French oak thats carefully integrated to support the fruit rather than dominate it.
Cellaring
Approachable now, but best from 2026 onwards. Will cellar comfortably for a decade.
