Our story began on a road trip in late 2015, a journey that took us 60 kilometers south of Berlin to the quiet main street of Schlepzig. We were there with a simple goal: to purchase a single barrel of whiskey from Brandenburg’s oldest distillery. But as we stood in the distillery’s charming courtyard, the owner shared that he was looking for a successor. In that moment, we knew we had found the adventure we were searching for.
By 2017, after countless hours of workinstalling new mash tuns, fermenters, and our own millwe fired up Germany’s very first rye whiskey still. From that initial spark, Stork House Rye Whiskey was born. Every bottle of our Full Proof Rye captures that spirit of unexpected journeys and bold decisions.
