Description
Part of Nikka’s ‘Discovery’ Series, this yeast-focused version brings to mind the floral and fruity world of sake, and is produced through low-temperature fermentation. By combining this experimentation with Yoichis typical style, it brings forth the multifaceted peat whose wispy character is one of its many captivating traits. This peat and yeast combination produced a palette of complex fruity and floral flavours and aromas.
Scents of mushroom and coal fires and a hint of melon-laced sake greet the nose. On the palate, notes of banana and sweet melon dominate in a refreshing way, while Yoichi’s usual characteristics carry those flavors through the finish.
Only 2,640 bottles of the 2022 Aromatic Yeast Single Malt Yoichi were released for sale in the US.
