Our very first exclusive spirit, and more specifically rum, release is from proudly South African rum producer, Mhoba. Distilled in 2017 and matured in a single ex-bourbon cask for 3 years, only 100 bottles were produced. Naturally coloured and bottled at a cask strength of 57.5%. (Bottle size 750ml)
Situated among the rolling hills of the Onderberg district of Mpumulanga, among their own fields of sugercane, Mhoba rum is 100% pot distilled from fermented sugarcane juice and contains no additives, colourants or flavour modifiers and is therefore termed pure single rum (the rum equivalent of single malt whisky).
Nose: Spicy cinnamon and vanilla with ripe fruit acetone.
Palate: Natural sweetness with caramel, raisins and toasted oak progressing to dry spicy cloves and cinnamon.
Finish: Sweet and spicy evolving to lingering tobacco and ripe stone fruit.
