Description

Released in 2018, Port Charlotte 10yo (aka PC10)is now the core expression from Bruichladdich in their peated range. Produced using 100% Scottish barley, peated to 40ppm, and matured in65% first-fill ex-bourbon, 10% second-fill ex-bourbon and 25% second-fill French wine casks.Non-chillfiltered, naturally coloured and bottled at 50%.

Nose: Ever present smoke that is drying, earthy, peatash in its style along with golden caramel, fudge, vanilla custard, hints of ginger, nutmeg and clove.

Palate: The smoke wraps loosely around the sweetness drawn from the oak with coconut, vanilla custard, lemon honey and smoked oysters.

Finish: Smoky but also with soft sweetness of fudge and malted barley, orange, mango and Banoffee pie.
