Old Ballantruan 10YO Bottling Note
Old Ballantruan is a superb peated malt, produced at Speyside’s Tomintoul distillery using heavily peated barley. This is the first ever bottling with an age statement, and it comes at a punchy 50%ABV. Very good stuff!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose:Soft spices and rich peat note. Very punchy and intense, with some inviting vanilla notes.
Palate:Simple and balanced with a solid delivery of rich peat smoke and hints of black pepper.
Finish:Intense and spicy with a crescendo of wood smoke and tar.
Overall:Not overly complex, this is a simple though very enjoyable peated Speyside malt…
