Description
Brio de Cantenac Brown 2019 Margaux is the polished and approachable second wine of the historic Chteau Cantenac Brown. It captures the signature elegance of the Margaux appellation with vibrant red fruit, floral lift, and silky tannins, while offering earlier drinkability than the grand vin. The outstanding 2019 vintage gives the wine extra richness and depth, delivering a refined Bordeaux that balances charm, freshness, and structure.
Origins & Craftsmanship
Brio de Cantenac Brown is produced by the prestigious Chteau Cantenac Brown, a Third Growth estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification located in the Margaux appellation of the Mdoc.
The wine is crafted from carefully selected parcels within the estates gravel soils. These Mdoc gravel terraces are ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon and contribute aromatic complexity and refined tannins typical of Margaux wines.
Unlike the chteaus grand vin, Brio is designed to be more approachable in its youth while still expressing the estates terroir. The lots destined for Brio are vinified separately and aged with a more restrained use of new oakgenerally about 20% new barrelsto emphasize freshness and fruit purity.
The 2019 vintage blend is approximately:
-
48% Merlot
-
42% Cabernet Sauvignon
-
10% Cabernet Franc
After fermentation, the wine is matured for about 12 months in French oak barrels, creating subtle spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit.
