Sensory Description:

Strawberry-pink in color with a fine, playful mousse, the wine opens with vivid aromas of fresh strawberry, cherry, cream, and a hint of soft spice. On the palate, gentle sweetness is balanced by Gamays delicate tannins and bright acidity, creating the impression of lightness and lift rather than richness. Flavors of ripe red berries, strawberry parfait, and subtle pastry tones glide across the palate, finishing fresh, airy, and irresistibly drinkable.

Winemaker’s Background:

Domaine Bernard et Marjorie Rondeau is tucked into the tiny hamlets surrounding Boyeux-Saint-Jrme in the Ain, near the Swiss border. Bernard and Marjorie Rondeau met while studying enology in Bordeaux before returning to Marjories family vineyards to revive and refine the local specialty of Cerdon de Bugey. Since taking over the estate, they have invested in modern cellar equipment while preserving the traditional mthode ancestrale that defines the appellation. Their work has helped elevate Cerdons reputation, earning Domaine Rondeau recognition as one of the regions benchmark producers.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well chilled to highlight its freshness and gentle sparkle. Best enjoyed within its first year of release, this Bugey-Cerdon shines as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with fruit-based desserts, powdered-sugar beignets, and chocolate-driven sweets. Its low alcohol and buoyant sweetness also make it a delightful early-evening pour for celebrations and casual gatherings.

Playful, authentic, and full of simple pleasure, Bernard Rondeau Bugey-Cerdon delivers a rare style of sparkling ros that feels both nostalgic and endlessly refreshing, a true joy to share.
