Origins & Craftsmanship
The Bulleit brand, now owned by Diageo, is produced at the Bulleit Distilling Company and is traditionally known for its high-rye bourbon mash bill. Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has long built its identity around spicy rye characterbut this limited release intentionally breaks that tradition.

For the Mesquite Smoked Malt Limited Release, Bulleits innovation team redesigned the mash bill entirely:

• 65% corn

• 30% mesquite-smoked malted barley

• 5% malted barley

During malting, a portion of the barley is smoked over mesquite wood, infusing the grain itself with aromatic smoke before fermentation and distillation. This approach integrates smoky character directly into the whiskey rather than adding flavor later, creating a natural savory depth reminiscent of wood-fired barbecue.

The whiskey was distilled in November 2018, aged more than six years in new charred American oak barrels, and bottled at 93 proof (46.5% ABV).

Released nationwide beginning March 2026, the whiskey carries a suggested retail price of about $49.99 and was produced as a one-time limited release within the brands experimental innovation series.
