The 2009 Four Roses Mariage Collection 115.4 Proof (57.7% ABV) is a barrel strength, non-chill filtered Kentucky straight bourbon produced at the Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, KY. This release is a technical “mariage” of two distinct recipes: a 19-year-old OBSK (35% rye, baking spice yeast) and a 10-year-old OBSV (35% rye, delicate fruit yeast). Matured in specialized single-story rackhouses, this blend highlights the structural contrast between ultra-aged oak tannins and younger, vibrant esters.
The resulting chemical profile is defined by deep notes of oxidized dark fruit, rich cocoa, and heavy spice from the aged “K” strain, which are balanced by the bright, creamy vanilla and floral aromatics of the “V” yeast. The high proof maintains a dense, oily mouthfeel that carries charred oak and leather through a long, spice-driven finish.
