Description
The unassuming Lilian Duplessis continues to do an exceptional job at his familys domaine. His Monte de Tonnerre was among our favorite wines of the 2017 vintage (from any producer). The nose is complex, with notes of bacon fat, smoky reduction and toasty oak (Lilian uses approximately 10% new oak for his Premiers Crus). Theres impressive weight and density on the palate, with a refreshing bitter-lemon twist to the finish. An outstanding wine that will only get better over the next five years or more.
