At Soul Growers they believe the grape growing families of the Barossa are truly the heart and soul of the region. Each year from all the barrels of wine made, they select just a rare few to be bottled not only individual vineyard wines – but individual barrels from within that vineyard.
The Hampel family have been farming their land in the northern reaches of the Barossa Valley for 6 generations. Descended from original settlers, this family take great pride in producing grapes of superb quality that reflect the red soils that abound in the Northern Grounds.
Richly flavoured and textured wines, with great handfuls of blue, red and black fruits are the signature of this little slice of Barossa. Firm yet fine tannins, which linger seductively- make for a hallmark that speaks to its origin.
This wine was traditionally open fermented, basket pressed and then aged for almost 2 years, prior to hand bottling and corking at the winery. Lovingly hand crafted at every stage of its life, this wine will cellar beautifully for the next 10 years from bottling, should you wish.
