The 2017 Ballard Lane Central Coast Pinot Noir has a dark crimson color and opens with aromas of strawberries, clove and baking spices. The palate is fleshy with peppered strawberries, maraschino cherries and toasted oak. This wine has earthy tones and hints of vanilla.
Broad aromas of fruit punch, pomegranate, sumac, mace and rust show on the nose of this fairly priced bottling from the Miller family of Bien Nacido Vineyard. It’s bright, snappy and tangy with red-plum skin, strawberry and raspberry flavors on the palate, plus herbs and pepper spice.
