This 27 Year Old Benrinnes single malt bottled at 51.9% ABV by independent bottlers, Thompson Bros, has been aged exclusively in a refill Hogshead and is one of only 170 bottles produced.

Nose: Rich, honeyed malt with orange peel, salted caramel, dunnage, hessian and distant smoked meats.

Palate: Liquorice, turkish delights, almonds, green bell peppers and charred mango.

Finish: Elegant long-lasting aftertaste.

Distillery Information

Benrinnes is the dominating mountain on the southern bank of the Spey, reaching 841m/2,759 feet, with many distilleries drawing water from its streams and springs. One of those distilleries is Benrinnes itself. Originally built in 1826, in 1829 the distillery had to be rebuilt again a few miles away following flooding and woe continued with a serious fire in 1895. After succession of owners the distillery is now in the hands of Diageo. Currently the 15-year-old Flora & Fauna, first released in 1991, is the only core bottling available alongside numerous independent bottler offerings showcasing a fruity Speyside with a characteristic meaty, robust and full bodied style.
