Distillery Information

Established in Aberdeen in 1842 by William Cadenhead, Cadenhead’s Whisky is Scotland’s oldest independent bottler of whisky and is now based at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown in southwest Scotland. The company buys new-make spirit to be aged at Springbank. It also buys older whiskies up to ten years old that are usually aged at the respective distilleries. All single malt releases are bottled without coloring agents at cask strength. Cadenhead’s also bottles blended whiskies under the William Cadenhead brand. It has also bottled Bourbons and whiskies from other countries, including Ireland and Canada. The portfolio also includes gin, Cognac and a wide selection of rums that are aged at Campbeltown. The parent company, J. & A. Mitchell, also owns Springbank as well as the recently revived Glengyle-Kilkerran distillery, also in Campbeltown.
