Catoctin Creek’s “Distiller’s Edition” of their very popular Roundstone Rye. Only one in every ten barrels gets selected to be in the Roundstone Rye “92 Proof” whisky.Lead distiller/blender, Becky Harris, pulled some of the more interesting barrels from the back of the barrel warehouse, barrels that exhibited spicy and deeper flavour notes, and decided to release these at a higher proof: a whisky specially curated for flavour, while still being remarkably smooth.

Nose:Vanilla pod,herbal spice and some anise.

Palate:Spice loafleads into cocoa, nuts, leather, citrus and a touch of vanilla.

Finish: Medium length with the young oak prevailing. Vanilla and cocoa, pronounced rye and spice.
