This whisky hails from the Craigellachie Distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. Founded in 1891, the distillery has long been known for its contribution to blends, but its official single malt range (including the 17-year-old) shines a spotlight on its distinctive spirit. The 17-year-old expression is matured primarily in a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, with finishing in first-fill sherry and bourbon casks to amplify complexity.
