The 15 year old Mac-Talla Strata comes to us from one of Scotland’s oldest Whisky families, the Morrisons, who were the previous owners of Bowmore, Auchentoshan, and Glen Garioch.

Mac-Talla means ‘Echo’ in Scottish Gaelic and reflects the Morrison family’s connection to the island of Islay. From the Latin stratum, ‘Strata’ refers to the many igneous rock formations that are visible along Islays rugged shores.

But it’s the peat that has become synonymous with Islay whisky, and the Mac-Talla Strata is a terrific example of the island’s smoky style.

Nose:Smoked barley, sea salt and stewed fruits

Palate: Creamy mouthfeelwith typical Islay peat and winter spices.

Finish:A lovely smoky finish rich and warm.
