Description
This biodynamic domaine, long considered the northern star for fruit driven, dry-fermented wines, is located in Bergholtz, Haut-Rhin. Jean Dirler and Ludivine Cad fastidiously tend nine pristine Grand Cru vineyards and lieu-dits planted to Alsaces most classic varietals. Respect for the land and commitment to quality is reflected in their methods: biodynamic viticulture is practiced, including the use of herbal treatments, horse plowing in the vineyards, and natural fermentations for the wines. From sparkling Crmant, to Sylvaner, Pinot Gris and Riesling, the magic of “soil to glass” is captured as nowhere else in Alsace.
