A 50/50 blend of Pinot and Gamay that is aged 18 months in neutral barrel, Cline’s Passetoutgrains is fresh and pretty with soft tannins. No rusticity here!
The historic Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard has its origin in the fine Gagnard-Delagrange holdings of fifty years ago, as the vineyards hail from the marriage of Richard Fontaine to Jacques Gagnards oldest daughter Laurence Gagnard in 1982. Today, the domaine is managed by the intuitive and graceful Cline Fontaine.
The heart and soul of the domaine are their Chassagne-Montrachets, of which they own a fine clutch of premier crus and vines also in the grand crus of Criots-Btard-Montrachet, Btard-Montrachet and Montrachet itself.
The style of the wines is intense, deep and complex. They are Chassagnes that start out as classically balanced and accessible, but always with fine expressions of terroir and the underlying structure to age gracefully as well.
