This vineyard is a monopole of the estate which has been in the hands of the family since 1860. Where the Brles is firm and structured, Clos de Ras is more lithe and supple, with silky tannins and a sophisticated flavour palette of blood oranges, crushed raspberries, and smoky spice. Alluring.

The 2023 Vosne-Romane Clos des Ras 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and violet scents, and better-integrated oak than some of the other cuves. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, but there is some lovely fresh red berry fruit here, with white pepper and allspice lingering on the finish. One of the best wines from the domaine in 2023.
