Description
What it tastes like
A pale-yellow, white gold hue chardonnay with powerful aromas. Notes of green apple, citrus cream, minerals, and a coolness of style. On the palate, the wine displays delicacy, but piercing acidity with sour green apples and Meyer lemon flavors. The minerality peaking through the mid-palate has the freshness of morning fog followed by delicate marks of wild herbs.
Why you should buy it
Organic, vineyard-specific Chardonnay from one of Sonoma Coasts coolest sites (Joyce Vineyard). Small yield, thoughtfully made, with plenty of length and finesse. Ideal for drinking now or ageing a few years.
What to enjoy it with
Shellfish, sole, richer white fish, or light poultry dishes; also lovely as a refined aperitif.
Wine Story
Ernest Vineyards was founded in 2012 by husband-wife duo Todd Gottula and Erin Brooks. Their inspiration was a tasting Erin attended a few year prior, when she sampled a few wines from what is now the West Sonoma Coast AVA.
