Description
Fromthe little known Cotes Roannaise in southeastern Loire, where they specialize in a unique strain of Gamay native to this area where it grows at high elevations on granite soil. The Pothiers family has been farming here for generations and has been a leader in farming and vinifying naturally. As the name implies, this is their reference point red that really shows off this unique version of a familiar grape. The grapes are hand harvested and 50% destemmed, then wild fermented and aged in concrete. Lush, dark red berry and plum fruit with crushed violets and a firm, but mouthwatering finish.
