Brown-Forman revived the legendary King of Kentucky brand in 2018 as a limited release featuring older whiskeys, and these 2026 Small Batch releases mark a departure from the single barrel format. Each of the three batches blends around 100 barrels aged 12-18 years with a 75% corn, 15% rye, 10% malted barley mashbill, bottled between 105-110 proof to highlight specific flavor profiles. Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris created these batches from barrels originally earmarked for single barrel releases but ravaged by high evaporation in heat-cycled rickhousessome retaining only 16% of original volumeturning a challenge into an opportunity to build “compound, composite flavor.
