Description

The alpha tequila Lobos 1707 Extra Aejo is born of 100% pure Blue Weber Agave and aged for over three years in American white oak, then finished in historic Pedro Ximnez (PX) wine barrels using the traditional solera method. The result is a superbly unorthodox, unapologetically smooth extra aejo that harkens back to over 400 years of tequila refinement. Bottled at 40% ABV.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Rich dried fruit, dark chocolate, and toasted oak with a whisper of PX sherry sweetness
  • Palate: Luxuriously smooth with caramel, raisin, vanilla, warm spice, and a deep agave complexity from the solera finish
  • Finish: Extraordinarily long and velvety sweet, spiced, and deeply satisfying

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the solera method?

What is Pedro Ximnez (PX)?

PX is a style of intensely sweet Spanish sherry made from sun-dried Pedro Ximnez grapes known for its rich notes of raisin, dark chocolate, and molasses. Finishing tequila in PX barrels adds a distinctive layer of sweetness and complexity.
