Description
From the esteemed Burgundy house Louis Latour, this Premier Cru Chardonnay hails from Chassagne-Montrachet, a village celebrated for producing wines of richness, depth, and exotic fruit character.
The Morgeot vineyard, located on a south-east facing mid-slope, is one of the most renowned Premier Cru sites in the appellation. Its historical roots trace back to 864, with the name derived from the Latin margo, meaning edge or border, reflecting its position along an ancient territorial boundary. The terroir here produces wines that are both generous and structured, with a distinctive tropical nuance.
Crafted using traditional Burgundian methods, the wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and is aged for 810 months in French oak barrels (50% new, medium toast) from the Louis Latour cooperage. This careful levage enhances both texture and aromatic complexity, resulting in a wine that is bold yet elegantly balanced.
