Seelbach’sTasting Notes:Maple toffee on the nose in addition to notes of dried cherries and orange zest. It’s a canned fruit cocktail in a glass! Chocolate covered pecans and oak on the palate. A really great balance. From a sweeter notes this transitions incredibly to really some dry and spiced notes. The drier notes hit a medium finish. It lingers with a little dried apple and baking spice.
Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Hints of chocolate, vanilla, blackberry and raspberry, maple and oakprovides for an enjoyable start to this bourbon.
Palate:
Rich notes of caramel, chocolate with spices and some sweet oak wood. Tasted with a dried cranberry brought out notes of vanilla. The pecan conveyed fruit and chocolate.
Finish:
Long and smooth with toasted vanilla and spice. The dried cranberry brought out the oak and spice. The pecan made the finish very long with spice, oak and chocolate. It has a true Beat Navy finish!
About the product:Beginning as fully matured Makers Mark at cask strength, Private Selection is created by adding 10 custom wood finishing staves to each barrel. Its then aged in our limestone cellar to extract a unique, flavorful taste profile. Participants in this special barrel program get their say in the selection of these wooden staves. The finishing staves can be any combination of five flavor profiles chosen especially for this program. With 1,001 possible stave combinations, each expression of Private Selection has a customized finish and taste profile that is unique, yet undeniably Makers.
