Description
This Cabernet Franc comes from a single parcel in San Pablo, Tunuyan in Valle de Uco. Vineyards are situated at 1500 meters above sea level. Flavors of red currants, blackberries, and plums dominate the palate, contributing to a layered fruit profile. The wine’s complex character unfolds with additional nuances of black pepper and earthy notes. The finish is firm and balanced.
Perhaps the most radical of Argentinas winemakers, Matias Michelini was fondly known as the “green Michelini” for many years and his colourful winemaking makes him the rebel of the Argentine wine scene. Pioneering a lean style of wine with often electric acidity, Michelini has been at the forefront of Uco Valley wine making and in particular Gualtallarys development over the last decade. A firm believer in biodynamic viticulture, Mathias’ wines very much start in the vineyard and almost invariably end in concrete. Matias is a winemaker and agronomist who strives to make experimental wines that are pure expression of the terroir they come from.
