Sitting in the shadow of Pouilly-Fuiss, Mcon Fuiss nonetheless allows producers in the Fuiss commune of the Mconnais a degree of flexibility.

Mcon Fuiss is a subregional designation of the Mcon appellation of southern Burgundy, covering white (Chardonnay) wines made in the commune of Fuiss (itself within the higher profile region of Pouilly-Fuiss). Fuiss lies roughly nine kilometers (5.5 miles) west of Mcon city, at the southern end of the Mconnais wine region of southern Burgundy. The area is something of a transitional one, claiming a high reputation for its Chardonnay-based white wines, but sitting only a few kilometers north of the Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages regions, well-known for their Gamay-based red wines.
