l’Envolee Ros 2020 $28A new ros! This one is made with a a little help from Olivier’s friends. It’s a direct press of Syrah from David Teyssier at Domaine de Gressac in Provence along with some Grenache and Cinsault from hisneighborin Argelliers Stephane Grosbottled with almost no sulfur (2g/hl for our fellow nerds). This once again highlights Olivier’s masterful touch withros. A patio pounder of the highest order, but not in a forgettable pushover way. Juicy, expressive and fun. PS, we should be getting the latest addition of Deferlante later in the season.
Ronds Noir 2019 $33This is Olivier’s friendly red blend of Syrah, Carignan and Cinsault all co-fermented whole cluster for 7 days before pressing off to tank, where it ages for a few months on the lees, then gets bottled unfiltered with no sulfur added. This one still fits the juicy, expressive and fun description from above, but with a deeper core of red and purple fruit that really opens up beautifully and disappears all too quickly.
