Planeta is a sicilian family – owned winery established in 1995. Alessio, Francesca and Santi Planeta spent years matching the extraordinarily diverse Sicilian soils with both indigenous and international grape varieties. The result? A family of critically – acclaimed wines that demonstrate how brilliance can be attained through thoughtful marriages between grape variety and terroir. With such a quality, they succeed into bringing Sicily to the world.

Planeta becomes a “Journey” around Sicily and its greatest wines. The products are innovative, contemporary and thoroughly coherent with a ritual interpretation of wines which have been almost forgotten but are historically a part of Italy.

This wine is produced at our Feudo di Mezzo winery, situated in the heart of Etna viticulture. It comes from Nerello Mascalese grapes, and from the search for a modern expression of this noble grape variety cultivated in the unique and splendid terroir of Etna.Vanilla, sour cherry, wild strawberry, a very clean floral effect.In the mouth substantial but smooth. Very expressive fruit with more complex aromatic elements of undergrowth, myrtle and oriental spices.
