This is Port Askaigs youngest expression so its no surprise to find youthful spirit characters at play. Wed recommend this more as an aperitif whisky, with more smoky character than you might expect from its age. Fresh and zesty, with salt, pepper, and lingering lemon.

Lying as it does on the West Coast of Islay, Port Askaig hails from one of the most majestic (in this writers opinion) parts of Scotland. That said you wont find a distillery there. Rather Port Askaigs whiskies are made from stocks purchased elsewhere on this hallowed island and therein lies quite a debate as to who precisely is supplying the stock! I wouldnt let that concern you too much, each of their range does a tremendous job of representing Islay that said perhaps youd like to have a guess whilst tasting
