It’s our classic Third Island Gin – locally foraged Manuka, Rimu, and Horopito showered in pure Stewart Island rainwater – now of seafaring stature.

In the 18th Century, the Royal Navy began the practice of storing gin rations below deck alongside gunpowder. As such it was crucial that, should a barrel burst, the wet gunpowder would still ignite in the heat of battle.

Anything under 57.15% – or “gunpowder proof” – was barred from ships, while any gin stronger was welcomed aboard.

And with that, Navy Strength Gin was born.
