Description
Gordon & Macphail’s Private Collection range features a truly exceptional and unique collection of greatly aged single malts from a mixture of celebrated, little-known and now closed distilleries across Scotland. Personally selected by members of the Urquhart family, each release is a unique and exquisite chapter in Scotland’s whisky history.
Matured in refill American hogshead cask. Distilled in 1982, bottled in 2021.
Nose – Baked apple aromas lead to demerara sugar and faint dried herbs. Grapefruit zest develops accompanied by white chocolate and freshly cut grass.
Palate – Dried pineapple flavours infuse with passion fruit and crystallised violet. Lemon curd comes to the fore alongside subtle icing sugar and a faint herbal edge.
Finish – White pepper and charred oak linger on the finish with citrus fruit.
