Description
Whittaker’s Gin is a family business run by Jane & Toby Whittaker from Harewell House Farm in the heart of Nidderdale in North Yorkshire.
In the summer of 2018, Toby & Jane embarked on expanding their capacity and decided to build a new distillery building so they could welcome the public through their doors so they could join them on our journey and new projects. The first one being making Whisky, keep an eye out for a very special, limited edition batch coming soon.
Their aim is to produce an artisan small batch, handcrafted spirit which reflects the Yorkshire countryside in a bottle.
Whittaker’s dry gin uses bilberries (formerly known as Whortleberries) to bring sharpness, complementing the Juniper berries keeping the gin character intact. Hawthorne berries, which grow on the beautiful hardy trees and hedgerows throughout the countryside, bring background sweetness. Bog Myrtle grows on the stunning Yorkshire moors and has a spicy aroma and tastes both bitter and balsamic at the same time (rich like vanilla). Some breweries still use Bog Myrtle to produce sweet heather ale and in medieval times, it was used as an alternative to hops.
Due to its amazing popularity, this 42% ABV slightly sweetened compounded gin made with fresh Raspberries and sugar (but no too much and no artificial colourings or flavourings) is now part of our core range.The Raspberries are macerated in Whittaker’s Original Gin. It is a wonderfully fresh, vibrant pink gin for those who like something just that little bit sweeter.

Key Botanicals
Juniper, Coriander and Angelica Root gently overlaid with signature botanicals of sweet Hawthorn Berries, Billberries, peaty, earthy Bog Myrtle, home grown garden Thyme with a gentle hint of fresh lemon citrus. Macerated with fresh raspberries and a touch of sugar. No artificial flavourings or colourings are added.
Tasting Notes
Juicy raspberry with a subtle sweetness to it, but remains firmly in the gin realm with plenty of earthy juniper and savoury thyme notes to balance everything.
Perfect Serve
Premium tonic or just soda water garnished with frozen raspberries and a twist of lemon peel. This is also really good served in a Clover Club or as a twist on a Bellini cocktail.
